The CBPCA is a nonprofit organization, formed in 2001 as an answer to California’s energy crisis. CBPCA was formed under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) to encourage a revolution in building improvement. The goal of the CBPCA is to encourage building performance through a new kind of improvement service that identifies areas for improvement and provides buildings with better energy efficiency, economy, air quality, structural soundness, long-term value, and improved health, safety, and comfort for its occupants.
ENERGY STAR is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency [EPA] and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The goal of ENERGY STAR is to save money and protect the environment through energy efficient products and practices. ENERGY STAR provides technical information and tools that organizations and consumers need to choose energy-efficient solutions and best management practices. ENERGY STAR has delivered energy- and cost-savings across the country, saving businesses, organizations, and consumers $16 billion in 2007. Integral Impact is committed to providing clients with results. They offer sustainable design assistance to building professionals and property owners, from pre-design through final certification, for residential, commercial and public buildings. Their in-depth understanding of both the design and post-occupancy diagnostic side of high-performance building, allows them to provide impactful support throughout the course of a project's design and construction.
Flex Your Power is California's statewide energy efficiency marketing and outreach campaign. Initiated in 2001, Flex Your Power is a partnership of California's utilities, residents, businesses, institutions, government agencies and nonprofit organizations working to save energy. The campaign includes a comprehensive website, an electronic newsletter and blog, and educational materials. Flex Your Power has received national and international recognition, including an ENERGY STAR Award for excellence. The campaign's primary funding comes from the Public Goods Charge as approved by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), as well as contributing Munis and Partner organizations and companies.
